No. We are not supplementing Physical Schools. We are offering similar curriculum as being taught in Physical schools and inter-transfer from Online School to Physical school and vice-versa is possible.

Rosewood Academy envisions an online school designed for the educational requirements of 21st Century. We offer a shift in learning practices from routine and rote learning to concept and application-based learning.
We offer structured, progressive, and personalised learning for our students using IT tools and techniques, which is challenging to implement in a physical school. The data analytics and immediate feedback aids learning and understanding, both for teacher and student. The cost of high-quality schooling is a fraction of the cost of regular education. Some points to consider are:
⦁ Teachers selected from across India and are the best in the field.
⦁ Students don’t spend on Transport, Uniforms and Dining Charges.
⦁ Our curriculum goes beyond academics and incorporates Habits of Mind, Real-Life Lessons and is more attuned to the realities of the 21st Century.
⦁ It is safe and secure for the children more so, at a time when the world is becoming more socially distant.
⦁ The flexibility of learning with recorded classes aids anytime, anywhere learning.
⦁ Every child at Rosewood Academy learns and grows at his own pace, mentored by our experienced team. There is no rat race of percentage marks or grades.
⦁ Online Schools overcome the problems of bullying, corporal punishment, discrimination and favouritism.

Traditional schools focus on rote learning, where a student is required to memorize certain questions and reproduce the answers in term-examinations. However, at Rosewood academy – the focus is not on rote learning but making the child understand the concept and its usability in their life and career, since we believe that – there is a difference between learning and acquiring knowledge. The specific learning is a mere set of information which is as such available in print and electronic media – but it’s the knowledge aspect that assists the child in understanding its practicality and usability at any point of time in future.

Academics & Curriculum

The Rosewood Academy would follow an amalgamation of US and Indian curriculum, thus deriving the maximum benefit of both systems of education. While Mathematics and English subjects would be as per US curriculum – the remaining subjects viz. Hindi, Science, Arts & Humanities, IT & Computer literacy etc. would be as per Indian curriculum based on guidelines of CBSE.

As we plan to follow the CBSE guidelines therefore, we would be following the pattern and syllabus of NCERT books.

Yes, we will provide the marks sheet and transfer certificate at the end of the academic session.

Yes, we would follow the system similar to a traditional school with regards to the promotion of the students. There will be term-end assessments and final examinations. However, unlike physical schools, we would have an assessment that provides feedback and also facilitate remedial classes for concepts that are not well understood. The assessment pattern would also be different with a greater focus on the application of concept rather than memorisation of concept.

We recommend age-appropriate books for parents to buy as a part of their home library. Alternatively, books can be rented through online libraries or community libraries, if available. Shortly, we would also provide Digital Library for students and parents.

Physical Sports and Games would not be possible online. We would hold online classes for Yoga, Meditation, Mindfulness and well-being. Students and Parents will have the option to enroll into city-based sports clubs or training centre, depending on the child’s interest level. In fact, with the flexibility of Rosewood Academy, it would be easy to follow your passion and interest, be it sports, arts or cultural pursuits.

Although, it’s not the books but the curriculum that carries weightage which is defined and designed by the National Curriculum Authorities and all schools are required to cover the basic topics in that curriculum, and since we would be using the syllabus and curriculum of NCERT so the books prescribed by NCERT could be used by the students. Moreover, we are as such not propagating rote learning but understanding and mastering the core conceptual contents of the curriculum. We

Yes. We would be conducting additional Remedial classes for individual/group of students beyond regular class timings in case of requirement felt to re-visit the conceptual aspects of the subject. Based on the feedback of our data-driven assessment system, remedial classes will resolve the gap in understanding a particular concept for individual or group of students. Similarly, we do intend to organize Enrichment Classes for super-achievers so that they do not lose interest in the regular classes.

There would undoubtedly be homework. However, without compromising on the academic rigour, we would ensure that there is a balance of homework and live sessions.

Rosewood Academy is a new-age school designed for the fast paced real-world. Our mission is to create learners who have the self-confidence, independence, and high-tech skills to continuously learn—meeting challenges innovatively and creatively.

According to our curriculum – students would imbibe – Creativity and innovation, Critical thinking and problem-solving, Communication and collaboration, Flexibility and adaptability, Initiative and self-direction, Social and cross-cultural skills.

The structured learning system, along with positive reinforcements from teachers, will help students to become disciplined. Of course, we would need the support of parents and others at home to achieve this. However, with Online Schooling, the bad influence on a child is also restricted. Active learning and participation will ensure that the child is well-occupied in productive things and would reduce the chances of a mind going astray.

We agree that there would be circumstances and instances when the child is unable to complete the homework or projects. As such, we encourage each child to learn and grow at their own pace. At our end, we would provide remedial support, follow-ups and counselling to help them overcome any difficulties and make online learning an enjoyable experience.

Most of the HomeWorks would be online and students would be submitting their work and assessments/projects online. However, worksheets and HomeWorks can be scanned using mobile scanners and uploaded on the Portal. In certain cases even parents can also correct some worksheets with the help of model answer scripts to judge progress of their child in the classroom.

Examinations and Appraisals

There would be both formative and summative assessments. Students take Examinations based on conceptual understanding and application of knowledge, and this reduces the instances of plagiarism or copying. We would also have video-based oral assessments and AI-driven assessments to measure the depth of understanding and learning.

Teaching Staff and Learning Process

All our subject teachers are employed full-time with us. Some of the activity teachers, subject experts and masters may be contracted on a part-time basis or as a Guest Speaker.

All our teachers meet the eligibility criteria and person specification stipulated by us. We expect teachers to be subject experts and have the necessary skills, aptitude and personality to teach online. We also look for teachers who are good human beings and are loving, joyful and thoughtful in their approach. We train all teachers before they start to teach students and interact with parents.

Screen time refers to the time spent on devices – mobile, tabs, computer and television. World Health Organisation recommends up to 1 hour of screen time for children aged 3 – 5 years and about 1.5 – 2 hours for Primary Students.

Not at all screen time is terrible, especially if there is a human at the other end of the screen. The Screen Time at Rosewood Academy School has a caring teacher at the other end and is part of the structured learning process. Rosewood Academy School does not require the use of social media platforms, gaming apps and requires limited browsing on the internet.

The only screen time expected is for online classes and related tasks/activities. At the pre-primary level, the screen time is more with adults than with the student and is being used to provide a human touch to the home-schooling process. We advise parents to restrict the screen time of their children beyond Rosewood Academy School hours. Detailed guidelines, tips and counselling support will be provided to all enrolled students to help manage the screen time of their children.

Three to four hours of classes per day for six days a week have been carefully crafted, keeping in mind several factors. We believe that this is an optimum structure and offers a host of related benefits.

In a traditional school, the school time includes recess and lunchtime. It also includes many other periods which we believe can be reduced or removed from the weekly time-table. For example, the Library period, sports period, GK Period are not included in the Rosewood Academy School time-table.

Classes are only for Four hours for Grades 6 to 8. During these classes, the teachers will conduct sessions and also assign homework for students to do during the day. In addition to these, Students would be guided for activities, reading time and physical exercises. We expect the students to be engaged in active learning for about 6-8 hours a day.

We expect an adult to be with the student during all live classes. In case Parents / Students are unable to attend the live classes, they can view the recorded classes. Additionally, parents can also refer to the School Notice Board for updates on homework and activities.

Yes, the Batches have fixed timing, and we do not allow flexibility of changing the Batch often. Change of Batch timings is permissible only once in a month and thrice in a year. The reason is that a cohort of teachers and supervisors are responsible for each Batch. They are responsible for tracking the progress of your child’s learning. If there are frequent changes in the Batch, it gets challenging to make a teacher and supervisor accountable for a child’s progress, which is not acceptable.

The “Anytime and Anywhere” learning is possible with the flexibility to view the day’s session at a time and place convenient to students and parents. Also, the students can complete their homework from any location and at any hour of the day. For example, if a child has Music Classes to attend in the afternoon, she can choose to complete her academic work after the music classes.

In case Parents / Students are unable to attend the live classes, they can view the recorded classes from the Portal. The parents can also refer to the School Notice Board for updates on homework and activities.

You can apply for leave through the School Diary on the Portal. Teachers will mark the attendance on the School Portal daily. The information on participation and leave will only be visible to the concerned parents/students and not to other parents/students.

Teachers – Parents Coordination

Parents have multiple ways to reach out to the Principal / Teachers. Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) will be held on a one-to-one basis bi-monthly. In addition to this, Parents can contact the Teachers / Principal through online chat, email and calls (through prior appointment). We have defined appropriate levels of escalation to your requests.

We conduct regular feedback polls and surveys about the teachers and the teaching-learning experience. Additionally, Parents are welcome to communicate their concerns and suggestions using the communication tools like chat, email and calls (through prior appointment).

Yes, Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) will be held on a one-to-one basis bi-monthly. Please refer to the School Calendar for the schedule.

As a policy, we do not provide access to other students/parents contact details and personal information. During the live classes, students/parents will be able to see the other student’s profile pictures only. The students/parents cannot change their profile picture and name. The profile, including the enrollment number on the Portal is similar to the School ID Card.

The User ID is linked to an individual student, and other students cannot use the same account.

Therefore, students who miss the online classes due to poor or irregular connection the class sessions then they can view the contents offline and raise their doubts etc. for teachers to clarify subsequently. Moreover, our endeavor would be to make teachers available on phone Call or video call on WhatsApp etc. where students can clarify their doubts and other subject related matter.

Although we would appreciate that all students must attend all online live classes regularly to gain maximum from the classroom experience, however we do understand that it may not be possible for some students to do so because of certain medical or other simultaneous interest (Sports, music etc.).

Therefore, to cater for such scenarios we have devised our curriculum to include extensive self-assessment and question banks covering the complete topic which are time-bound and students would be required to submit after going through the classes offline. This would ensure that such students are able to keep pace with rest of the class.

Miscellaneous – Holidays and Dress Code

We will be holding Special Assembly Sessions to educate and understand the significance of festivals and other important days. We would also share tips and ideas for celebration at home with family and friends.

No, we would not conduct any centralized assembly or daily prayers as is the practice in Physical Schools. However, each day the class will begin with Introductory Session of about 10 minutes, during which students and teachers will hold universal prayers and set the tone for the rest of the day. We do not intend to subscribe or teach any religious doctrines in the Introductory Sessions. The focus is on universal values of truth, love, understanding, compassion and peace.
